What I have learned?
I have learned to use basic HTML tags and layout Web pages
We look at using Dreamweaver to manage and design Web pages.
How well I have learned and what affects my learning?
I am well interested in this lesson. I feel motivated and it feels like creating a Website is fun and challenging although it is kind of confusing when you are using it for the first time – i.e. Adobe Dreamweaver. Our tutor is looking after us very well and she is helping us in every way possible.
How could I improve my performance or ability to learn?
I could improve myself in this unit by taking time to do some practice on designing and managing Webpage at home during my time away from college so I can familiarize myself on different features of the application that we are using.
Overall, this unit for me is going great and I have not got any problem at all. I can get along with this very well and I am enjoying doing this.
Principles of Computer Networks
What I have learned?
I have learned the importance of the layers of the OSI Model, its purpose and how data is passed along the network.
I have learned the basics and few stuffs about computer networking.
How well I have learned and what affects my learning?
I have learned so many things that I do not know in this unit. Our tutor is helping us to understand our lesson in the easiest way possible but sometimes I really don’t get it that quick. With this, I am trying to cope up and do lecture so that I can read trough it again when I don’t get it.
How could I improve my performance or ability to learn?
I find it complicated to understand but I am trying my best to catch up and comprehend with the lessons that our tutor is teaching us. I am willing to learn all the stuffs that he is covering. I think I could improve myself in this unit by allowing time to read all my lectures during my time away from college.
Principles of Software Design and Development
What I have learned?
I have learned to use the Visual Studio and its main purpose. We also done hand coding of the codes in a program.
How well I have learned and what affects my learning?
I have learned a lot in programming since the beginning of this school year. I now know how to use the basic tools in Visual Basic. I can also write simple codes to rum a program. Our tutor is really helping us if we don’t get the project straight away. She’s explaining it before we go on with our work and that really helps.
How could I improve my performance or ability to learn?
I can improve my performance and ability to learn by trying to do some visual basic coding at home or during my spare time so that I can familiarize myself with its use and purpose. And by trying to analyze how each code works.
Organisational Security Systems
What I have learned?
In this unit I have learned the common types of security attacks in an organisation and how we can cope and prevent the attacks from happening.
How well I have learned and what affects my learning?
I learned so many things that I don’t barely know when I first come to this course. The lesson in quite enjoyable. Our tutor tries his best and not allow us to get bored during the lesson. He lets us do group works and some crossword puzzles.
How could I improve my performance or ability to learn?
I can improve myself in this unit by doing some research outside college hours.
Communication and Employability Skills
What I have learned?
In this unit, we talked about the skills and qualities that we need to get a good job, what our strengths and weaknesses are and how to overcome them. We also learned what a blog is and the history of a blog.
How well I have learned and what affects my learning?
I have learned things that I can use on real life. Our tutor is really trying her best to make it easy for us to understand the lesson. She is helping us in everyway that she can and she gives us time to cope with the lesson and assignments.
How could I improve my performance or ability to learn?
I could improve my performance and ability to learn by paying more attention during the class and try not be affected and be distract by anybody else.
